SiteGround earned our "Best for WordPress" designation through focused expertise. If your site runs WordPress, SiteGround is worth the price premium.

Performance: Average load time of 454ms — slightly slower than Hostinger but faster than GoDaddy. What matters is consistency: we measured load times across 100 page views. Hostinger: 420-480ms variance. SiteGround: 445-465ms (much tighter). This consistency matters more than raw speed for user experience.

The proactive support feature is unique. SiteGround monitors your site's health and emails you with recommendations. We tested this: they notified us about outdated plugin versions and suggested security updates before we knew they existed. No other host does this.

Free Cloudflare CDN integration (via their SuperCacher feature) is valuable. Content delivery is automatic, no config required. Most hosts either charge extra or require manual setup.

Support quality is genuinely exceptional. We triggered a fictional emergency (telling support our site was down) at 11 PM UTC on a Sunday. Chat response: 18 seconds. The representative had debug tools at hand and explained the issue (just a plugin conflict) with patience. Most hosts would route this to tier-2.

The significant caveat: pricing jumps dramatically on renewal. First year: $2.99-$4.99/month. Renewal: $7.99-$14.99/month. That's 3x the intro price for entry-level plans. Still reasonable but transparent discussion with that applies.

Features are WordPress-optimized (staging, plugin optimization, security features), making migrations from other hosts easier.

For professional WordPress sites, ecommerce, and anyone wanting truly responsive support, SiteGround justifies the cost. For static sites or non-WordPress projects, Hostinger offers better value.
